OUR EVENTS

May 2025

St. Catherine’s British School
Athens, Greece

It all began with an idea. The first LAL event was hosted at St. Catherine’s in Athens. We began by presenting a video collage of multiple interviews of students, young children, and grown ups from various professions (business people, diplomats, designers, musicians, and artists) from around the world. They shared why laughter is important to them and the various ways they cope with their mental health. We also invited stand-up comedian Katerina Vrana who shared the ‘funny’ side of how she almost died while on tour in Malaysia. She recounted her experiences and explained that laughter truly was the one thing that kept her going. Throughout her performance, the assembly hall was filled with laughter and our community was truly uplifted and inspired by this event.

International School of Geneva, La Grande Boissère Geneva, Switzerland

We then moved up North in Europe, reaching Geneva. At La Grande Boissère we created a similar video, interviewing people in our community about what laughter means to them and why they value it. We then shared this video with the school, alongside content in the School Newspaper explaining LAL’s mission and the importance of laughter. Even though it’s cold in Switzerland, it was heartwarming how the community came together to embrace LAL.

October 2025

Justin-Siena Highschool
Napa, California

Continuing our journey around the world, we just had our 3rd event in Napa. At Justin-Siena Highschool, comedian and musician Jesse Manibusan inspired the school community with his story and his performance, showing how both laughter and music can have a positive impact on our mental wellbeing. Additionally, we continue a tradition of creating a video, this time featuring only children and teachers from this Highschool who shared what makes them laugh.
